Engaging Abudwak Elders and MCAs: Strengthening Grassroots Support for Garissa 2027

Today was a meaningful and productive day as I engaged with key stakeholders from the Abudwak community in Garissa County. I had the honor of meeting representatives of the Abudwak elders from all constituent sub-clans to seek their blessings and brief them on my community engagement itinerary for the coming days. Their reception was warm, encouraging, and full of goodwill. I am deeply grateful for their expression of unwavering support and for their willingness to serve as grassroots campaigners in my bid to reclaim the Garissa gubernatorial seat in 2027.

These meetings with community elders are critical in building a strong foundation for unity, social cohesion, and citizen participation in the governance of Garissa County. I emphasized the importance of collective action and the role that every community leader plays in shaping the future of our county. Their insights and guidance are invaluable as we chart a path that puts the people of Garissa first.

Later in the day, I held a consultative session with MCAs from the Abudwak community representing Garissa Township, Fafi, and Balambala constituencies. The discussions were candid and constructive, focusing on the pressing priorities facing our people, the state of county governance, and the need for unity and coordinated leadership as we approach the campaign season. It was inspiring to witness their commitment to serve their constituents and support initiatives aimed at driving sustainable development in Garissa County.

Throughout our engagements, I highlighted the importance of aligning our efforts with the values and vision of the UDA party and President William Ruto. Together, we discussed strategies to strengthen community mobilization, increase voter registration, and ensure that our county progresses under capable and united leadership.

I am highly encouraged by the dedication and energy of both the elders and MCAs, who have pledged to actively support my bid and promote our shared vision for Garissa. By fostering collaboration and empowering our local leaders, we are laying the groundwork for a strong, people-centered governance model that will drive prosperity, unity, and opportunity across all communities in Garissa County.
